Its common for the wire to get dislodged from the clips and drag on the drive shaft. When you put it in reverse it blows your fuse and your gauges stop working. The escalade hardness i used had solid copper wires so they were very ridged and hold their shape. Now their is no way the wire will ever hang. By the time i'm done with the car the only thing original left will be the shell and the Windshield wiper assembly. I hear thats a bitch to replace on an e30. I'm still battling with the one on my GTI lol.

There is pretty much nothing original on my car besides the unibody, doors, trunk, and driveshaft.

my e24 has a higher oddball to stock ratio then my e30, it's a 81 633 which is a series one e12 based car so it's nothing really like the 83 and up 633/635 which are e28 based cars, it has the m30b35 and getrag 260 from a 91 535, a e34 m5 clutch and lightweight flywheel, i did a e28 style rear suspension conversion for the modern lsd diff and more ratio choices, and on the 535 rear subframe i installed a set of trailing arms from a e32 750il for their nice big vented rotors and bearing type subframe bushings, i installed a cruise harness from a e30 controled by the orignial e12 style column switch and actuated by a e28 brain, electric sport seat interior from a 85 635, front spoiler built from a e36 front bumper cover, e28 m5 rear swaybar e23 735 front swaybar modified to fit (ends chopped off a new link tabs tig welded on) attached to the control arms with e30 links, e34 rear springs with a coil chopped on bilstein sports (e12 based rear springs too short for e28 rear suspension and e28 springs too soft for my performance desires) built a custom cluster with autometer gauges

that is the main crap on da shark, da e30 has it's own weirdness
84mm crank from a m52b28 in the built m20 and complete suspension and brakes from a 01 m-coupe, convertible front bar and the rear bar is half e28 and half 18mm 960 volvo, plus the fact that it started off as a 318is

is this another "list your mods" thread? I thought people would post stuff like fuzzy dice.

For example, my car has no window switches in the console, and no provisions for them, but i still have power windows.

Ya - an old thread, but since I've found it, thought I'd contribute.
    Here we go:

No particular order - just wrote down what came to my mind. Probably missed a thing ar two.

    Starting with my favourite:
    - Every single light (fronts, tails, fogs) comes from a different car

    BMW Parts:

    - White rear-side windows
    - Windshield seal with two pins
    - 325i fornt suspension and brakes
    - 320i rear suspension and brakes
    - 318i shell
    - 325e complete engine block
    - 320i head
    - 325i intake manifold, AFM, injectors and throttle
    - late 320i gearbox
    - early 320i flywheel
    - 3,73 LSD
    - M-TechII steering wheel
    - M-techI rear spoiler
    - Blue front side-panels
    - Black rear side-panels
    - Grey rear seat bottom
    - Grey/blue rear seat top with armrest
    - At least two different types of wheel bolts (not counting anti-theft)
    - different window cranks on each door
    - front-right brake caliper from a different E30

    Custom made parts:

    - 2" single-pipe exhaust
    - Gear knob
    - Gauge cluster (faces + LEDs)
    - Front seat brackets
    - Power trunk lock (lid pops up via remote)

+ Coutless aftermarket parts sucha as wheels, seats, strut-braces, shocks, springs... this list could go on for a while...

Now I've got to find a "ghetto-mod thread" - I saw it somewhere. Got some stuff I could put there too ;)
