In the end it comes down to driving style.

The prius if u run the A/c the Motor is always on

And my evo was good on gas if i kept it under boost and cruised at 60 on the freeway. i think i managed to get like 28+ miles a gallon
but when i drove the piss out of it like 12mpg hahah
then again 489whp and 100oct is to hard to keep out of the pedel

yea it's REALLY hard not to get on that car. Its so agile and the sound that motor puts out is sex. But id rather have money in my pocket seeing how it NEEDS 93 oct. and it sits at 4.60 =-/

That's impressive for a VR6. Our 1.8T hardly ever got great mileage, but then again, the boost was just too fun to avoid.:p

Unless you actually like the amenities , technology, spacious interior, and sexy hunchback styling ;).

Or if you want to support the hybrid segment, which will lead to competition amongst manufacturers and ultimately make the technology better. The price of crude is only going to rise.

    Never say never.

Prius hate comes from the elitist attitude that these drivers have been expressing as though they are better than us for driving "primitive" fuel wasting vehicles.

This is an interesting video though, I wonder how many people actually research and do their hw about a prius before purchasing, or just listen to all the commercials and jump on the green bandwagon.

Not even close, Rush is a moron who spouts on constantly with uninformed crap about politics. Clarkson is funny and talks about cars. Big difference.

Where the prius shines is city driving. Braking charges the battery and at low speeds it uses electric power. The thing actually gets much better mileage under city conditions than highway speeds.

My boss has one - its pretty gay other than the gas mileage.

I don't see where all of the Prius hate comes from. Sure, there are some "green snobs" who drive them, but have you looked at m3 or any new BMW drivers? They are some of the biggest snobs in the world. Somehow that never matters though...
