After all this shit that's been going on lately, i'm really starting to lose faith in humanity. It's one thing to not help someone whose car has broken down, but it's another to simply run when a person is being stabbed to death, or ignore and old man hit by a car, or be too lazy to help a woman convulsing on the floor.

The thing is though, when looking at the situation logically mankind is probably no worse than it's ever been, we simply see or hear about every wrong that happens across the globe.

Should of, could of, might of, whatever. The kid was stabbed with a bowie knife numerous times before anyone "would of" been able to do anything. Paramedics wouldn't have been able to do shit.

What I don't understand, is how a bus full of people could just stand by idly while someone gets their head cut off. It's just one guy with a knife, take him down.

This was in the paper a few weeks ago, shit I also encounter while working at a pool. It's frustrating to say the least.

you can be th best marksmen in the world you are still going to have one hell of a time to take off shots with a bus filled with people scrambling to get out. with aisle big enough for 1 person to walk down and one door.

It's really not that difficult to aim and fire a gun, trust me. Everyone I've ever met with a CCW has been very mature and responsible about it, and I'd absolutely trust their marksmanship if my life was in immediate danger. You're talking as if the bus was on fire, you're blind folded and were being charged by the entire Miami Dolphins defense.

if Canada had legal guns like the states what makes you think the person would only have a pistol? dude brought a "rambo" knife if he was going to use a gun you bet it wasnt going to be some dinky hand gun.

All it takes is one bullet. The guy could have had an AK-47 for all it mattered; he would still be taken out just as quick by a "dinky hand gun".

You also have to remeber before anyone knew what was going on the guy was already stabed 3-4 times in the neck with a "rambo" knife.

lastly if Canada ever did have a CCW ( which they will never thank god) Grey Hound would never let you bring a gun on one of their busses.

But they do allow you to bring a huge hunting knife on the bus? Didn't think so.

Couple problems there, buddy.

1. If everyone had a gun, the guy would be shot dead by one of the other 33 people almost immediately after killing the kid.

2. You expect him to continue popping off people one by one while everyone continues "minding their own busnies"? Hell no. It didn't happen in this situation (everyone ran for their lives), and it wouldn't happen if people on the bus were capable of fighting back.

3. 100% chance of hitting other people? Are you kidding? Most people with a CCW are quite decent marksmen, they're not going to just whip out a semi automatic handgun and fire wildly with their eyes closed.

I would think it should take some effort to remove one's head with a "rambo" knife. Like - 2-3 minutes tops.

Agreed! He can't swing the knife at two or three different people in the confines of a bus.

He doesn't need to swing the knife at 2 or 3 people. Ever been on a bus? It's also easy to judge if you've never been confronted with a knife held by someone obviously willing to use it.

SO say he only had a knife and you have a gun.. now you want to start unloading bullets in a bus full of people panicing.. So now 100% chance you are going to hit other targets besides your intended.

So say noone had a gun (as it was on the bus) dude goes and stabs this guy.. Now you want to be the "hero" and block the only exit on the bus and potentionaly injure/kill other people who just want to get out of there. the last thing I think you want on your soul is the murder of a little kid that you caused.

and if this dude was on anything there is absolutly no way you are going to take him down. Drugs = no pain and stronger then 10men.

This seems to be the most recurrent question in all of the discussions I've had about this story. Of course there are "I'd walk up and punch him in the back of the head" hero theories, but in reality 3 (big) men did enter the bus to try and help and were chased off with the knife.
