91 Octane is the standard fare of high-test in these parts. There's a 76 station (affiliated with Sunoco) a few miles from me that sells race grade fuels - 96 and 100 octane. Last time I checked it was ~$7/gal.

My sister says that in Russia, 98 octane is standard for her small car, and is the low grade at most gas stations.

But there is a place right near a drag strip that sells 110. Funny thing is, even when gas was about 4.50 a month or so ago, the 110 still stayed about 6.50/gal. Didn't seem so bad.

Other parts of the world use a different standard for determing the octane rating.

I believe ours is RON+MON/2 to get the octane rating, can anyone confirm? I'm too lazy to look it up.
