weird that black one and only m3 baur has late model tails... if it were a true m3 would it not have early tails?
or is that just factory m3 widebody converted?

"Bmw approached several european convertible specialists, such as Korman and Baur, to come up with a suitable hood mechanism for a fully convertible version of the e30 but in the end the firm of Shaer Waechter designed a top that met BMW's design briefs. It was a pretty complex affair, which included 28 bearings in its mechanism to smooth its operation, and was actually amazingly water-tight when new, although like most of its contemporary soft-top rivals it wouldn't take long for a bit of water ingress to occur from the top of the A pillars."

from the baurregistry:
"In total there are 10865 E30 Baur TC's build in Stuttgart. Some 3500 conversions were made elsewhere, most in South-Africa. You could get your Baur with any motorisation you wanted. Also: 316, 316i, 318i, 318iS, 320i, 323i, 325i, 325E, 325iX. There is also a one-off M3, now in the Netherlands, you can find it at my site (Register -> '85&'86 -> YX-45-ZZ. Most cars where 316i (after the introduction of the 325iC) or 320i(before '87). All cars build at Stuttgart are numbered. For instance, my own car has number B47095-13. They started with B40001-13. This means my car is the 7095th build one. The last 2 digits stand for the type of roof. 11 is PVC Black, 13 Sonnenland Black, 14 Sonnenland Blue, 15, Sonnenland Brown. There are some variations on this one, like 64; also Sonnenland Blue. Why this was done? Probably no-one can tell us.
In total there where only 7 cars exported to the USA! Most of them are later imported.
and of coarse....the one and only baur m3

really? amazing!
the baur was designed before the e30 convertible was designed. the fact that the baur conversion cost around 6k, and the fact that the convertible was released a few years later, all led to the demise of it
but the baur came before the convertible. baur also made a conversion for the e36, and also the mercedes gl
