bimmer.info is down WTF
they are supposedly between a civic and an accord. But seems roomy to me and easy to get into because of the 4 doors. Feels bigger than my aunt's 03 accord coupe. I drove the first gen and my dad who is 6'4" sat in the back fine and the newer ones look bigger.
newer BMW's suck

yeah, makes sense. But I don't want both my cars to be as old as me and without some of the nice touches a E39 has. Sure, one could polish it up nice, but E30s are still turds in comparison to smoother looking modern cars. And you could install all the modern features I want but then you have an E30 that costs as much as a newer BMW with none of the resale.my wife makes enough to maintain her cars. its just the fact that im cut from a different cloth. ive never had money all my life so im a cheap fucker and it pisses me off when someone tells me its 850 bucks to change valve cover gaskets. there are cars that cost less to maintain than bmw's. i think i will just stick to my 30-40 yo junk bmw's i can fix myself and get my wife a nice jap car that has better track records than BMW
She should have a TSX or something. A few co workers have TLs and they are nice enough cars. You have to love BMWs to keep them up. I've been in more BMWs than I can count and fell for the E39 years ago and was set to get one. But Acura's are fine too and not like your wife cares as much as the average person on this site does.Leave a comment:

my friend's family has owned two Acuras, he says the only time he can remember one being in the shop was when his dad managed to get "4 gallons" of water into the engine.
I doubt the FOUR GALLONS part, but who knows, his dad's kind of stupid.

i built my mom an e34 540. do you know if id be able to see the heating element wires under there if they existed? shed love it if i made her seats heated. i know that. i guess ill have to investigate. thanksSomething about all of them comming prewired and all you need is to buy the switch and plug in the heating element thats under the seat and wiring power to it. Don't know if it was like that from the M20 and M30 cars but the M50s all supposedly have them.
Get your wife a TSX, I like those and actually considered getting one as a daily. Pretty fun for a 4 banger FWD sedan. Not as common like the accords, civics and TLs either. I had a first gen. TSX as a loaner from Mercedes and I enjoyed it, didn't even use up the tank of gas like I always do either and I was driving everywhere.Leave a comment:

Tell her to get a honda, even though I really don't know how they have been fairing lately. Maybe a toyota?my wife makes enough to maintain her cars. its just the fact that im cut from a different cloth. ive never had money all my life so im a cheap fucker and it pisses me off when someone tells me its 850 bucks to change valve cover gaskets. there are cars that cost less to maintain than bmw's. i think i will just stick to my 30-40 yo junk bmw's i can fix myself and get my wife a nice jap car that has better track records than BMWLeave a comment:

E30s aren't exactly the ideal car for the occasional business trip and rentals are a PITA. But I guess if everyone lives to drive E30s solely, then they can make do. My next car down the road may likely be a E90. I like them a lot.
A newer BMW just comes with an implied cost of running it. God help those who buy a newer one (or a car in general) and can't afford to keep it up. I've had shit go wrong with all my cars at some point, outside of my Acura which mysteriously never had anything go wrong even at 215K+.Leave a comment:

haha e90. Not saying I can afford one. Even if I could I'd never buy one. Looks like a honda accord with bmw badges.I like mine...
