You will not ever beat the Civic's in STS, accept it. Make a DSP car or realize you are just having fun. Or buy a CRX/Miata and go after STS2.

    Lame :)

When competing against dreaded Spec89Civic in STS, I'll need ALL the help I can get. That includes the 1.5lbs of radio and additional 5lbs of speakers, etc. I'm already working on the losing 20lbs of me (reasonable and healthy) but past that, the car still needs to lose weight. Thanks for the input though. I didn't think the USDM cars had a radio delete option, but nice to confirm just in case.

Keep the radio - but don't eat lunch. Problem solved.

I personally enjoy listening to some music before the run and then shut it all off before I make the run to keep the alternator from running.

It's only $12 for the panel, looks clean as hell too. I have no radio in my S50 car. I figure it gives my more reason to drive my other car once in a while, lol!

Not worth the money and time for saving that little weight

IIRC, all US-market e30s had radios.

Only bottem-rung el-cheepo Euro 316/318s had those panels from the factory

IMHO the 1.5lbs you will save by not having a radio in your car while on the autox is not going to gain you even .005 seconds in time around the track. Blasting the radio LOUD with your favorite music blaring will likely make you .005 faster around the course than having NO tunes at all.
