remember that your fuel econo gauge reads in KMs per 100LT of fuel in a "euro" speedo also.

if you do the math and don't fuck with the coding plug, then turn the odometer to the proper mileage in KMs; it is going to read correctly from then on. when you want to know how many miles there are, you just convert the km reading to miles.
Bingo! That is the answer i have been looking for. Thanks a lot i appreciate it. I don't actually have a euro cluster ready to be put in, but someday i will and this helps a lot.

remember that EVERYTHING will be in the metric system. that includes your gas gauge, mileage gauge, and speedo.

^^Yeah what he said. Just figure out how the amount of miles on your stock odometer converts to kilometers and roll the Euro odometer to the correct measurement in km. You will always be able to mathematically convert the amount to miles if you need to know.

If you really must, you should be able to use the US spec gears in the Euro odometer to make the odometer turn in miles instead of kilometers.

ya i don't care what it reads for how fast im goin becasue i alwasy just go the speed of traffic. I want to know about my question....

if i just plug and play a euro cluster into my car, after doing the math and resetting the euro clusters kilometerage equal to my american clusters milage, after doing that if i just plug it in, will it begin recording kilometers or miles?

if you get pulled and they give you shit it is just a fix it ticket, play dumb with the cop tell him it cam that way and tell him you get it fixed. chances are that he will let you of and tell you to get it handled.

i have put KM speedos in EVERY car i have ever had. i am just silly that way (and i have only really ever driven European cars).
i have used it as an excuse when i get pulled over for speeding.
"really officer, i was going that fast???? i had no idea, my speedo is in KM's so i don't know how fast i was going"

i can guarantee you that there is at least 1 thing one every person on this boards car's that is illegal in their state

Yea i know but I just want to have it match. So if i just plug and play a euro cluster into my car, after doing the math and resetting the euro clusters kilometerage equal to my american clusters milage, after doing that if i just plug it in, will it begin recording kilometers or miles?

Yea i am interested in this too. Because say my car has 123,456 miles on it. if i put my odometer from my US cluster into my Euro cluster... won't it just start recording kilometers per hour?

I guess my question is, Is it possible to swap in a euro tach, take apart the odometer and set it to the exact amount of miles your car has on it so it matches your total kilometers to the old total miles? Is this legal? Will the odometer start reading kilometers per hour or miles per hour? its sort of a confusin subject
