We are not crucifying him for that, rather for the 2250 lb m42 powered street car with "light weight wiring harness, composite stock seat frames, and alloy aircraft rivets" not to mention a 11,000 RPM M42 making 280 hp and no prior knowledge of S42, even though it was listed on his website. If he can't provide photo proof of his spot-welded front fenders (takes about 30 seconds), then how can we possibly believe all his other, unsubstantiated claims. It's because he's an engineer, we are supposed to believe him. What a crock of shit.
If he is lying about claims that are very easy to prove (put said car on scale, take some pictures of said modifications), then how do we know he isn't lying about claims that are more difficult to prove? No logical person will ever believe him.Leave a comment:

+1wow, i must have missed something.
A private businessman is trying to expand the aftermarket for a 18+ year old car, puts said car on a machine that no other aftermarket company has bothered with, and you guys are crucifying him for it?
Dc, maybe you do need to get your head examined.
I, for one, am glad that there is someone willing and able to do this stuff. Yes, it's expensive, and i understand why.
This is the last crowd i would have expected to pull this shit. If it's too expensive for your mommy to put it under the christmas tree, then you need to piss off.Leave a comment:

What year / model e30 chassis was this? Just curious.I'll either have to get them for you latter (my book is at the shop) or try to guess from memory.
I do know that the front struts moved inward more than 12mm in and out laterally and twisted fore and aft 22mm on the raw chassis.
And I need to correct something: The car did have new H&R Race springs and Bilstein sports installed on it.Leave a comment:

Alright well I dont know if Ive caught everything but Dan seems to be a good guy. If yall dont trust him then stop postin. I wanted to read about his r@d but I read another 3 pages of bullshit. All I know is he gave me a killer deal on an ignition swith, fog lights, and a few other parts. But Dan in everyones defence I would like to buy your brace at some point but like everyone has said I would like to see some form of data to prove your brace is better. And it does appear from my point of view that you keep ducking and dodging with the specs. So give the people what they want so they can shut the fuck up.
So, your request is for us to STFU, then you ask the same questions, so by defaut, STFU!Last edited by Farbin Kaiber; 12-10-2008, 10:28 AM.Leave a comment:

learn to read. i didn't ask for raw data, so go blubber in your own corner. besides, i have no axe to grind with DC. i don't participate in the childish r3v drama.
OK, I'm just gonna go out on a limb and say you have an ax to grind.
If DC posted raw data, you'd sit there like a blubbering idiot and have no idea what you were looking at. Trust me, I've been around these things before and they're incredibly complicated. Ever seen data from a 7-axis machine? I have, and it's fucking useless unless you have a very advanced system to interpret it.
Not to mention raw data would be hundreds of megabytes of nothing but uninterpretable numbers....Why are you so hung up on it?Leave a comment:

I don't see how kishg's questions show that he has an axe to grind. I'd also like to see some emperical data, or data overview, or something other than a marketing pitch. Your response is based on emotion and isn't very useful.OK, I'm just gonna go out on a limb and say you have an ax to grind.

Daniel, I want to give you the benefit of the doubt, but some of your claims lately on other subjects have made that more difficult. Maybe when I get over there for a track day I'll meet you in person, and base my decision on that. Unfortunately, you haven't presented yourself very professionally here, and your credibility has taken a beating. My money is staying in my wallet for a while. I have a lot of projects to fund, and have to pick them in order of usefulness.
Good luck, and stop getting into pissing contests.Leave a comment:

I was more interested in the discussion about dropping 600 lbs in a full interior/air conditioned car using lightweight wiring and alloy rivets.Leave a comment:

The original measured data was derived from a raw e30 on a 7 post (7 plane) Chassis shaker… At this same time the effectiveness of several braces were tested.
...
I do know that the front struts moved inward more than 12mm in and out laterally and twisted fore and aft 22mm on the raw chassis.
Originally posted by DCColegroveThe chassis will flex pretty much any way it can under asymmetric loading... Turns, hard braking...whatever. We have found (latter rather than sooner, at the time we didn't have access to some of the equipment we do now) that by limiting only in and out we increased the twisting.Originally posted by JGoodUnder what suspension movement would you see shock tower movement going front or back? I'm asking as a serious question, as I've never heard of that. Also, what is the total movement with no strut bar installed?
No bar at the same forces we applied? I don't know...probably would have broken something.
One bar we tested snapped (BMP).
Lost me there...
Anyway, what road or track to did you program into the shaker? And was it at a higher or lower ram velocity? Just wondering how bad you had to beat up on the car to break stuff. Sounds like some of the roads around my area, hahaLeave a comment:
