Camber adjustment question

I have both IE's an GC's. You can take out more of the negative camber with the IE's. Their drawback is they add about 3/8" back into the ride height. Jay from GC sold me one of the last sets of the old camber plates and I had to flip them and I had to grind away some of them to take out the negative camber. From looking pictures of the new GC plates they have removed the part that I had to grind away on mine. Also the GC plates allow for some caster adjustment. The IE's don't.Leave a comment:

alright ill look at these now, thank god you said that I almost ordered the I.E. ones. Those won't work for you, at full positive they will be the same as a stock bearing. I have them, I know. GC is your only option at this point because they're one of the few companies that make a plate with enough adjustment to go past the stock setting.

Product SKU Price Camber Plate - Adjustable street&track
E30cambersr
$275.00
New Product- Adjustable camber plates for the E30. These allow approximately up to 3 degrees of negative camber for the front suspension. These plates have sperical bearings encased in urethane to offer some cushioning. These are for dual purpose car that are street driven but are also used for track days and autocross. You can add negative camber for the track and adjust it back for street driving. They do not require drilling any holes and your strut brace will still fit. The bearings are easily replacable. Ride height will be lowered 1/8". These will work with factory type springs or 2.5" ID adjustable height coil over systems like the Bilstein PSS9. Priced per pair
edit: pretty sure these are the ones you were trying to show me on page 1 Jesse30. i went to the I.E. site and they werent there about 4 days ago, now the first item that shows up on the I.E. website under suspension is those camber plates.

i read the same, those ones u just reverse for "positive" camber only give u .5 degree of positive which IMO im still gonna have my same problem. Im tyring to find fully adjustable ones that give me less negetive camber then right now, does anybody ahve the I.E. track camber plates on their car? If so can u get less negetive camber then stock with those? Im gonna call I.E. and find out right now.I keep hearing that, about the "little camber change" and then I look at the difference between my car and the wifes car...there is a BUNCH of camber to the naked eye...dunno how that works on a rack, but it sure looks like a bunch.
The plates I have read about that allow adding some positive (correcting negative?) seem to say they will take out .5 degree of negative.
That does not sound like much.Leave a comment:

That's what I'm hoping mine is. The rear passenger side wheel has noticeably more camber than the driver side, even to the naked eye.Leave a comment:

look at your rear trailing arms and see if theyre bent.
could also be down to your subframe/rear trailing arm bushings being worn, if they havent been changed id start with them.Leave a comment:

U should scan and post your alighnment sheet, or post the specs.
From tearing appart countless E30's and putting a few back together again, it sounds like you have bent suspension components.
lowering springs will do little change to the static camber on the front of an E30.
with that said, i have a set of IE add on camber plates that i'll sell you if your interestedLeave a comment:

Joe, I called Vorschlag a couple of months ago.
Their attitude was basically "who gives a shit about tire wear, you need to corner faster", but they guy did explain that with stock replacement (ie "lowering: springs) there is just not enough room in the strut tower to make a whole lot of difference in camber.
I will have stock or nearly stock toe and camber before summer hits, I promise.
I have the spare subframe, I have the bitchin' 7 series bolts, now I need new bushings and to get to work.
so basically the vorshlag wont do much positive for me?Leave a comment:

true that, but i still have the problem and i am definitly not raising my car to solve the problem, i do have a question tho, say i get the camber plates and they do give me less negetive camber, do u think that mite raise my car a little bit in the front with less camber so i can run a 40 tire instead of 45?Leave a comment:

That's exactly what I mean, and that's how they're sold. Must of us who are going to drop $300 on camber plates are doing it to improve handling, not to improve tire wear. If I wanted even tire wear I wouldn't drive a low car.Leave a comment:
