    @2255 probably now closer to 2350 or so (putting some things back since it became my DD)

    What kind of data would back that up for you?

    A shot of the car on a scale?

    Well I don't have one. It's just not a big enough deal for me to shoot something like that.

    This is what I do professionally... Not just one or 2 cars since I learned to drive (my bet on 90% of this forums demographic) but hundreds of BMW chassis over the past 25 some odd years...

    Eric's skid plate sits ~1/2" below the oil pan... I'd prefer the protection of his plate any day. The OEM debris guard is a joke.

    Is a really good idea...

    Kind of complicated and definitely not cheap.

    Wider sump...baffles... the pump would need modification as well..

    Could be fabed from a stock pan core...

    Hmmm...

    Edit: Might as well dry sump the engine though.

    Not any simple bolt on out of the box solutions here.

    But I will think on it...

    The correct placement for an oil temperature sensor really is right in the oil pan, at the cooler/filter block you will get falsely elevated and intermittant lower oil temp readings.
