DAMNNNN check this tool kit out. Back then, I guess owners were expected to do their own engine tear downs?!?!?! The way kits are shrinking, the next generation of BMW's tool kits will probably come with just a business card for the service department.

Well "germancarsonly" let me say that is fucking beautiful. While that black tool kit may have been in the 91 model e30, the tool kit that "germancarsonly" has is the stock kit for all the other e30's. refer here:

The big red screwdriver has been NLA for many years now and are prized by the guys that own the cars from 35 to 40 years ago. I sold an extra one last year on eBay for $85 and have heard of them selling for $100. The tool kit in this photo is worth well over $400 and no I don't want to sell it.

They are pretty much the same except for the phone on the right. Mine doesn't have holes in the foam for lights and such. Why is that?

EDIT: Those were e30 M42 optional kits from 1991.
That is the same tool kit that comes in every e34, they bolt right into the e30, the holes are allready there and everything.

So, are the 318is trunk carpet liner and the black tool kit both NLA? They both look nice pieces.

I'm just bummed that the inner trunk cover is NLA for the large tool kits. I cant decide if I want to try and open mine up for the large kit, or just save it.
