i know the rb20 sucks. you need too cool down there. just because you know something doesnt mean you have to write paragraphs telling everyone how wrong they are.
but i confused the r31 with the dr30(fj20det) they look the same.

i heard the engine the r31 had was a pretty good one for nissan too
The RB20? Are you serious? If so, do you have a habit of dribbling a lot when you speak? Do you often paint on the walls with your own poop? Do you find yourself fisting jars of mayonnaise and are attracted to manatees? If so then in your world the RB20DET is a fantastic motor full of wonderful sparkles, glitter, prancing unicorns and happy clouds.
In reality it is nothing but a piece of menstrual slag, slowly sliding down the inner thigh of life. It is a stain on the bedsheet we call Nissan's engineering reputation. It is - in other words - only good for use as a boat anchor or possibly to throw at French people. Sorry Frenchies*.
Why you would bother with an RB20 when there are FAR more superior choices out there is beyond me. An RB25 would be better as a near-stock motor, or if you were going to build something up, grab an RB25DET head and stick it on an RB30 bottom end. You can buy RB30 bottom-ends out here farken CHEAP, too.
Otherwise, just buy a complete RB30ET - it was only ever sold in Australia but it'd be a lot cheaper than buying an RB26 in the USA and rebuilding that, no?
what are the actual rules to what you can import and street legally?
i want a r31, i have an addiction to old boxy cars haha. i heard the engine the r31 had was a pretty good one for nissan too
I <3 old JDM, I need to get some styling ideas from this thread, since no one makes anything for Legacys, and it has sort of the same shape and styling as some 80s cars. Could be a challenge though since I'm going for a rally look
