    My e30 is my daily and has never let me down. And long distance we are up to (5) 2000+ mile road trips.
    My 944 has never let me down, and does a lot of track days at a venue around 2 hrs from home... They aren't without their issues but if you keep an eye on the handful of problem areas it should be as reliable as any e30...in fact, the Bosch fuel injection system is nearly identical to an m20's.

      the 7.3td f series turcks are bullit proof and maintain their values extremely well. Xj's have been mention as are older toyota trucks, 4runners, and landcruisers.
