I changed my mind. The worst one was this Bentley:
Handles like a brick, poor turning radius, difficult to park, and on top a horrible gas milage! And it was not too quick around the track eiter! I can't understand why these are so expensive!
1981 Subaru 600 Rex, that was a piece of shit, but it could run all day with a gallon of gas. It was a tiring and scary experience, drums on all fours, rear engined, two stroke engine.
Actually, Polski Fiat 125p (which is based on Italian 124) is gaining a youngtimer status here. I see more and more of them restored. Some even made it into drift cars with M42 engines :)
This is going back some but the worst car ever was the Renault Dauphine. What a piece of crap. My dad wanted to buy one and as a teenager I talked him out of it.
My son-in-law had an early Rabbit diesel and when stopped for speeding he told the cop that his Rabbit diesel wouldn't do 60 if it fell off a cliff. The cop laughed and told him to be careful (no ticket).
I had one as my first car too. mocha(poop) brown with cloth tan interior. I tried REAL hard to enjoy that car and make it better than it was, but it's performance (backfiring when cold, and piss poor fuel economy from the single SU carb) made a Chev Citation seem like a teenage boy's wet dream come true.
Mine was an 81, and by the time i upgraded to an 84 Rabbit, I could not beleive what I was missing out on.
when I was a Kid we had a Green Volvo Station wagon, ugly as shit, no power to speak of, and it was death in the eyes of the ladies, I fucking despised that pile (...)
when I was a Kid we had a Green Volvo Station wagon, ugly as shit, no power to speak of, and it was death in the eyes of the ladies, I fucking despised that pile. also we had a Plymouth Reliant K-Car, that was a huge PoS pretty much Factory Direct. I Drove it while my folks were on Vacation(was not supposed to) bounced it of a curb, giving a tire a hernia, and later in the week, my buddy and I decided his Step dad was a douche, so we drove it through his hedge.
I didn't get to drive the folks car much after that, idk why...
both of these cars are right up there on the list of shittiest cars I have driven.
+1 On the HHR! Biggest piece of crap ever! And I have owned some heaps in my day. The build quality is trash, the blind spots are horrid, you cant see out of the front window, the rotors warp after only a few thousand miles, and it handles like a red flyer wagon!
Oh damn, never seen a pickup version. I used to walk down the street where the FSO factory was. My father learned to drive on a Fiat 125, it was imported from Italy, not the Polski Fiat version.
