I for one think these SUV's are fucking awesome. I would love to have a car that can go virtually anywhere, has all the bells and whistles, safety features, looks good and is ridiculously fast on top of that. Slapping an M badge on these may not have been the best choice but I am not really a purist so I could give a fuck. The cars themselves are the shit.
First off whats the transmission have to do with anything? Second off you're speaking violently about someone else's car that you know nothing about. Third, it came stock with White on white so you should be verbally reaming BMW just like I was if you hate it so much. Finally, "fast" is disgustingly relative and chances are, these wont even be that "fast" by any performance car standards. You sir are most definitely playing yourself out to be a jackass. And on top of that you think these cars will be able to go "virtually anywhere". What? you think these will clear even the most amatuer of offroad obstacles with their sport tuned suspension? Your post count is not indicative of your common sense. Thanks for speaking up. You're dismissed.

P.S. my car is a standard.

Though I gotta admit I think the radical TT V8 design they went with is pretty interesting.
I remember that article. It was in response to the X5 4.6is and no possibility of an MX5. It also mentioned how the M8 barley met the criteria of a ///M car because it was not that agile.

Dont want a X5 4.8iS? get a fuckin 3.0i. Dont make a squirrely ass X3. As for putting 555HP Twin Turbo V8's in the engine bay... wtf? the X3 and X6 werent made to compliment or balance the X5 like we see in the 3,5, and 7 series. They're just more ploys BMW is bringing into the playbook to "keep up" with the competition. It seems instead of floating out the global economy with its true enthusiasts, its going to get balls deep in its own failing attempt to tread water. Just my humbly informed opinion.

I don't see the functionality of the new ///MILFmobiles, but I'm sure they'll be plenty powerful and be right up there with the AMG offerings. The twin-turbo V8, which I guess is some twin-turbo variation of the N62, is defintiely a disappointment though. I can deal with BMW going into uncharted territory and trying tomething new, but they always seemed to have a naturally-aspirated solution to powering it before this point. I'm sure this won't be the end of their twin-turboed ///M models though, this will probably be another great, smooth motor and I'm sure it will make it's way into the next M5 and I'm sure the eventual M7 variant.

Oh wait, they tried that with the 318ti, and it caught so much flak. Less than 10 years later, everyone wants one. Americans don't know what they want. They are morons.

This seems a bit ironic to me. BMW is trying something different, essentially the opposite of what they tried with the 318ti. People may hate it now, just like the ti, but in ten years, who knows [if these will still be on the road] what people will want?

I agree with pretty much all the bashers of the X6 and X5 Ms, it defiles the name of M and is a really shitty time to release ridiculously expensive SUVs. Besides that, what with the recent gas spike, who knows when that will happen again. Not a good time at all.

exactly. If I were in the market, I'd buy an x6 M over a cayenne or ML63 or any of the other uber-SUVs. It's too bad the M isn't what it used to be, but at least we have our old beauties :)

    I don't really like them.

I see a lot of hate on new BMWs though, I guess this is common because they can't please everyone(im certainly not pleased until they put out a 1-series M).

I test drove one of the x6 ones last year on like a auto-x track, not sure if it was the M yet, but it was the V8 TT and it was pretty quick
