Bump in honor of my M-tech.

Spoke on the phone with the new owner yesterday and got to hear her driving in the background. She is doing well.

(ok that was prolly so cheesy) :D

no e34 is going to feel like an e30, no matter what. nice e34 though.

The key is to have both. e34s are great, and are likely the newest model BMW I really desire. They key is to get a later one, either a 525i or 540i, although I am a huge fan of the m30 engine, the 535i were made earlier and the one I owned has some crumby issues (sinking headliner etc). s

Even the base 525i Auto I used to own was a great car. I drove 14 hours from Philly to middle of nowhere Canada with 4 people, and it was perfect, even on dirt "highways" and the mile long dirt rally course to get to our lake house.

A 525i with an s50, turbo and manual would be fantastic. A 540i or swapped s50b32 with 6 speed would be even better. But as posted above, all that extra comfort comes at a cost and it it may never feel like an e30, or the e28 for that matter in terms of handling.

I know what you mean about the E34, although the M5 is certainly a different animal. Hopefully you'll find a different E30 and begin anew.

yeah, the new owner was willing and had the means to take on the necessary work.

Of course I wanted to hold on dearly to my beloved M-tech. Alot of fun and good times in that thing :(

Sadly, like Andy's/T3rdferuguson's Mtech I, rust and corrosion started to get the better part of the chassis. How I wish I was living in Cali or so, it would have been truely mint still.

In the process of building a 525i touring at the moment, I love my e30s, but spending an hour or three a day in it with sport seats and suspension, she can stay in the garage and wait for the perfect sunny 70-80 degree days!

Even though the part is expensive, you can upgrade to the e34 m5's steering box. It made a significant difference on my buddy's 525i. If they have a poly urethane steering coupler that will clean up a lot of slop too.

BTW I loved you e30, it will be missed. :(

Ah, I was wondering why you had stopped posting for a while... anyway, sometimes time off from an E30 makes it that much sweeter when you step back in. ;)
