It has been a while that I have been on this forum.
Last summer I bought a 316i Touriung again. I had exactly the same one 15 years ago, the only car I had a small acident with.
But now I got another one.
BMW 316i Touriung Design Edition with 146.000km. Still in very original condition.
I bought it in Germany and had to drive 700 km back to Belgium. So perfect to test the car.
The car actually drove pretty good but the temp. Gauge was going up and down between the center and the first line to the right.
When I drove faster then 130 km/h the light of the ABS went on and 1 bulb of the dashboard was broken.
So when I got home I put it on the lift. And I saw there were some things that needed to be changed.
- The heat covers for the brake discs were very rusted
- The brake lines weren't that great anymore
- ....
The last owner did these things:
- New Bilstein schocks front and rear
- New front and rear break pads and discs
- New radiator, waterpomp and thermostat.
So I decided to change everything underneath:
- New front and rear wheel bearing
- New front and rear heat covers
- Re do and clean up calipers
- New brake lines
- New fuel lines
- Re do rear axle
- .....
The interior was in pretty good condition but the sport seats fabric had some damage from getting in and out, so I got now fabric on the outside parts.
It took me a couple months but now the car is ready:
