m42 rad is a pain to bleed. make sure the cars cold, start it turn the heat on high open the bleed screw on the rad. rev the motor to like 2-3k rpm till you get coolant out the bleed screw. It took me a few cycles to get mine bled.

Ehh, its a lot easier to get that sender out with the intake off but it is doable with it on. find a mirror and a good light lol. Im pretty sure you can fit a deep well socket over the whole sender which makes life easier...
Yeah, I tried filling the top hose all the way to get coolant to the heater core, then jacked up the rear and revved it up to like 2.5K. The heat was cranked up all the way too and I couldn't even get heat. Shut off the motor so it wouldn't overheat.

I've got some good cordless drop lights and a nice mirror, guess I'll give that a try lol.

Good dude, good. Busy with work and the endless car projects. Hows everything going with you?

Using M42 Radiator and no I haven't used the E30 temp sender. Thinking that may be the case. Do you have to pull the intake Manifold to get at it?

    Thanks man.

Did some searching in the 24V section and even though I swapped it into a 318i, looks like I should have used the M20 single pin temp sensor.

Well the car is running, but having some issues. Coolant gauge seems to be inop and the cooling system refuses to bleed. Seems like the thermostat isn't opening or the water pump isn't circulating.

Other than that, the car ran great! No leaks and fired up the first time with no issues.

Right on man! Funny you say that, I went with this setup because of your exhaust. Hmm, may have to buy a regular borla instead then since I'm looking for it to be somewhat quiet. Do you know the model #?

Oh and btw, the engine is in. Fitting it with the headers and tranny already on is a royal PITA.

And the E28 is feeling unloved with all the parts stacked on the cover.

and then the fun begins tomorrow and this weekend hooking everything back up, fabbing the exhaust, etc.

Indeed. Please post a sound clip when you are finished if you get the chance. My vibrant is on order but I haven't decided on the intermediate muffler and it would be nice to compare something to polak's sound clips.

It's a shame that the borla off of my M42 setup is just 2 inch.

You need to rent a car hauler. The S50 e34it would be a hit at Show & Shine.
