heres a thing to consider though...the e34 is not an autocrosser, but get her out on say road atlanta or something...i dont know man. i have yet to take mine on a large track but i might swing the other way. your e34's have always been favs of mine, are you sure your just not getting bored with them?

does the e28 have any sentimental value to you? i wont sell my third car because of that, prob never will and it makes no sense to keep it. she doesnt run, blown 3 motors and $15k on it and the floor boards are rusting out lol...
I've autocrossed the e34, but never the e30.. I think the e30 would just be a lot more enjoyable all around. I've also been doing the e34 thing for quite some time now, so boredom may be a factor, still haven't driven an e34 m5 though, so maybe thats what I'm missing.

The e28 was my first car. I wrecked it when I was 17, I've been putting it back together slowly but it's almost ready to go now. Don't really want to get rid of, and wouldn't get any money out of it if I did.

the E34 is hott with the 9j rears. I was compairing a set of 9j's in E31 offset and my set in E34 offset and i could not tell the difference. you'd think the lip would be a little bigger or something, but i couldn't see it.

You have an E28 too? what kind of condition is it in?

    this is what i'd do.

    1. E34 suspension/wheels/hot M30 goes into the E28.

    2. dump the E34 for $4-5k stock. My E34 M5 was a blast, but it's just too heavy and i don't regret getting rid of it.

    3. DD bad ass E28

    4. put a lighter motor in the E30 (turbo M42, alum M52 etc) and keep that as a fun car.

    5. buy my ACT mesh wheels for the E30 (see link in sig) :)

I had someone come and look at the e34 today.. The offer I got was pretty much what I want for it with the built motor and HRE's, which isn't really what I want to do but the money is right. Only problem is that leaves me with 1 running car, an e30 on shaved R-comps, and a stock m20 and a non-running e28 that hasn't ran in 5 years. Now I'm contemplating just selling the e34 as is and doing an s50 swap on the e30, throwing the T-stars and Ground Controls on the e28 and possibly e36/Ti 5 lug on the e30 but I'm not 100% sold on that idea yet because of the front caster issue. If my e30 goes 5 lug I am either buying your ACT's, the Remotecs for sale on here, or some 16x8 ET11 RSes

As far as tuning the e34.. I really can't get myself to do it, I've been on the fence between megasquirt and miller and haven't budged. I just can't justify spending ~$1k including dyno time to get an extra 20-30whp out of a 3600 lb car

Of course you wouldn't post this on BF.c!!! Keep the E34 and get it tuned, I would go with that new Miller WAR chip. As you said you aren't dumping any more money into it, so just dump your money into the E30 and make it a vicious DD. Sell the E28 if anything!

Those E31 rears are also 9.5" wide, just a different offset than the E34 ones, correct? That is a pretty cool selling point that might help move them once you decide to sell.

I think I saw that car not too long ago. You should put the motor in the e30, put the 5 lug on, and put those wheels on.

Trying to decide whether to go megasquirt or miller
If you put that into the E30, you will immediately disown the E34, guarantee. The E34 is nice, but an E30 with a swap is THE ULTIMATE Driving Machine... PERIOD.

I would swap the motor and keep them both, I wish I had a e34 right now..
