I re-did my interior on the budget plan.

Steam cleaned the carpet and then a charcoal VHT dye. When I had the center console out I sprayed them along with the knee bolster with Dupli-color "oem" black trim.

Added a new black leather shift boot along with matching leather for the e-brake. Finished the new interior out nicely.

BTW, I have the same seat style conf that you do. I like the smaller lift handle on the outside of the seat.

Again, nice job on the interiror.
    Thanks.

At this point the paint is what bothers me because the previous owners took basically zero care of it.

All panels are original, but there is one burn spot from so called detailers that didn't know how to use a polisher and removed all of the paint, sigh. It's a small spot, but it really bothers me.

I am going to get the plastic bumpers clearbraed when I put on on though. I have had clearbra on Turbo, GT2, M3, and now the S4 Avant, and will never go without it on good painted surface on a car now. Of course, choose your installer carefully, a bad one cut into your paint.

So, after I singled handedly depleted the entire supply of roller sunblind since BMW couldn't seem to ship them without cracking one of the tabs holding the roller, the dealer told me to keep the last broken piece and charged my credit card back.

I worked with my mechanic and got a metal shop guy to fabricate the broken tab and fixed the roller sunblind. Since, what was I gonna do, the part is now NLA.

After a few months of waiting (obviously, since the job is less than 200 bucks, the metal shop guy probably didn't even look at it until he was done with all of his big jobs that pay the bills), I finally got it back.

And with the European rear decklid where the sunblind snaps right in without any tools and looks very nice and recessed in there, here's the end result.

The hooks snaps right into factory mounts insde the headliner.

Red seatbelt is all you are going to get if you were to order E30 seatbelts.

Regular non M3 belts are NLA.

Biglaw and IT consulting, put up with really not nice clients, and bill a lot of hours.

If we had to do it over, the mrs would probably have opted for dental school, and I govt work that requires clearance (= big $$$ in civvies market). Much easier schedule and better quality of life for around the same $$$

    Love it all!
I should have done the dash in 2003 when I bought the E30.

Back then it was only 400 something.

BMW changed the compound of the OEM dash for E30 to that of the new material, so if you buy an OEM one, it will be the new compound that won't crack under the sun.

The bad news is that BMW has started pricing E30 parts with "classic" surchage.

The dash is now listed for close to 1500 bucks MSRP, and you can probably get it for between 1200 to 1300 online shipped.

Sucks, but we are blessed financially and it was not an issue for us.
