First e30 came and went...I'm hooked!

I make some side money doing it for guys that want a cool tone to their exhaust without being ricey and without paying the price for a new system.

dammit! I need a new exhaust for the M42, but worried about what it would sound like. I'd like to pop for a supersprint, but I don't feel like waiting for months and don't have $530 to blow right now on exhaust.

Yeah I bought them from Vlad but they were on Levents car.

As for tuning the exhaust, I gut the stock box (muffler) remove all the baffling from it and weld in straight pipes that I "tune" to the sound I want, i.e. deeped or lower depending on how I baffle the straight pipes I put in...I love the sounds I can get and it still appears to be totally stock when it's all done.

So you put the straight pipe inside the muffler? How do you "tune" the pipes?

Do it. Back when I lived in CT, one of my rituals with any recently purchased ride was to run it up Rt 7 from my parent's place south of Lime Rock all the way up to Burlington, VT and back. Get familiar pretty quick that way.

Man, as much as I love riding topless in the vert I regret selling this car everyday! Maybe it was just because we had 2 cross country trips together and formed a MAn-CAr bond...time to take the vert on a road trip and break her in!

HAHa, no, I do it the right way and gut the box and straight pipe it out, then tuning based on desired tone

Vert Interior > Coupe.

I didn't see my car go when I sold it... I was kind of happy about that actually.

Thanks bro, I tune exhaust, so it's all OEM, with a nice deep tune, it sounds like a monster at open throttle!

Yes it was. Well, it was a boardshop so it had everything. There was one location in Fort Bragg, one in Rohnert Park and one in Petaluma.

LOL, if only it were that easy...but yet cheaper! I actually LOVE having a vert now, it's just MY coupe that I miss. It was my first bimmer, and I'd always wanted an e30 since I was like 14, and I put a lot of work into it to make it what it was, and it drove SO beautifully!

Whereas with the vert, it's absolutely GORGEOUS to look at, but drives like a turd right now...only because I'm so particular about the way my cars handle, respond and feel.

Someone slap me, I need to stop complaining. Oh BTW Levent, that "slow leak" at the oil return is more like a "mild" leak. I wake up to a nice little puddle every morning. But fourtunately it doesn't overheat, and still "runs" fine cuz I won't have the bread to do the headgasket for a minute...unless I decide to sell the BBS'?!?

Man I miss my coupe! I've got a beautiful cherry vert sitting in my driveway now but all I can think about is how great my coupe was!

Some young lady from Michigan who found my car on Craigslist...yeah once I put low profile tires on them, those rims were absolutely killer!
