no, actually my hood and trunk are painted as if they were carbon fiber, it is a very common paint job here in puerto rico and it looks 90% as the real thing for only $160 it is way better than $1000:D even expensive cars are doing the same, it is popular on track cars, wheels even, parts of interior, almost anywhere... it is very cool and sexy in person, every day i hear like 5 or six times: cool carbon fiber hood from random people and tourists that visit where i work.

It is hott, but fake CF is like fake boobs. I could never do it or live with it. And you can get a REAL one shipped for around 650-700ish

Is it
- black base
- vinyl cross-hatch pattern wrap laid on
- sprayed again with the grayish color
- then the vinyl is pulled off
- then the whole thing cleared or something??

interesting i might have to try this if its something like that

its grey/silver base then a mesh stencil of some sort then black through it

well, i know of 2 different ways to do it, the way my friend did mine is the easiest and cheapest. Mine was black base and then a rubber mat (meshed) that is sold in places like bed bath and beyond that is used in drawers or so, is laid on the hood and silver/ grey paint is sprayed over the black and finally clear. Then wetsand and polish.

The other way is way more expensive as the stencil used to spray the gray is small and do not cover a big part of the hood so you have to repeat many times, you get the idea...

You should see people looking at the hood and then comment cool carbon fiber hood! Really man it looks awesome and for the price, its a steal.
