I met the guy once, not bad in person and the car was damn fantastic. The only problem was that he took everything as a personal attack on him, not even the car but him. Anyone who posts something up for the public to get their opinion needs to know some will like it and others will detest it. Either way its just the fucking internet and he definitely took it too seriously.

the point i'm trying to make isn't that he handled everything the right way, it's that he's a kid. that's what they do. i did it, and learned from my mistakes the hard way, and i'll bet you did too.

so why hammer him so hard about it? some people respond well to negative reinforcement, others don't. unless he's your kid, leave it to his parents to discipline him and show him how the world works. it's pretty presumptuous otherwise.

Because he was kind of a cock about it and needed to be put in his place. That's the only reason in my mind. This board is one of the best at making people 'man up'.. I think jpndrw was handled ethically and kindly. We all gave him great compliments on the car and attention to detail, but at the end of the day all of us ended up talking shit because he showed signs of hardcore naivety, especially at the beginning of it all.

That is a 84 318i out at the ecology auto wrecking yard in fontana. I was out there 2 weeks ago and seen it. Did you notice the new p/s pump hanging there ? That car was stripped out to shit and looked like it was parked in a garage most of its life. It looked liked a super clean car before it ended up there. It had 318i smog stickers on the strut tower.
