I agree but knowing your time lets you know if you're improving. Plus it's always nice to know that you're quicker around the course than say the vette across the lot.

Dabbling a little more in the local SCCA chapter....People are way too competitive, all I want to do is have fun and get to be a better driver at the end of the day. I can care less about my time around the course...

I've been talking with a few buddies of mine who persuaded me into joining the SCCA Solo Autocross events. Just did my first event at Pocono Raceway this weekend. Unfortunately, I was one of the slowest- and blame the crappy tires I was running, since my other set was too worn down to pass inspection. Regardless- tons of fun! However, I think that real track days would be better than autocross....but to get the feeling of this thing on a track was good enough.

Nice! Yeah I'm happy about leaving the south too- home sweet home PA. I'll be down at H20i this year, but with the white s52 vert....so keep an eye out if your down there!

Wrapped up a 1,500mi round trip to Asheville, NC for the Vintage....absolutely zero issues with the Dirty30.....other than it having a hard time catching up to Quade- the S52 vert ;)

Thanks man- I do appreciate it!

This ol' zinno dirty30 is still my favorite out of the heard, even with all the other BMW's popping in and out of my life.

Just wanted to update this a bit- its been a while. The trusty "red e30" has been treating me very well this summer. Running like a champ, put around 2k miles on the thing going to a bunch of shows (Knoedown, H20i and Mk1 Madness (the only non-VW on site, but welcome with open arms))

Been spending most of my time in the garage with Quade- the e30s52 project, which is making moves.

Just some pictures, since I finally have a few decent shots to show.

Also just hit 5 years with this turd.

Got another e30- Quade the vert!

    Separate build thread

Also, after 6 months of pain, aggravation and having the ultimate burn out ever.....the Caddy has the first coat of "Hearing Aid Tan" on the body. Ready to be done with this pile of SHIT.

Thanks! Yeah I'm doing it the opposite way- the e30 got me into being a gear head and then I decided to tackle this mk1. They sure are special little slow turd vehicle.

hahaha yeah I was hoping someone saw that while I was on the highway. It technically said "30k bc e30 tax" ;)

Also- this past summer I really did a thorough detailing job. Took each body panel over the period of a few weekends and spent about 2h per panel detailing. Clay Bar>Compound>Polish>Wax with a PorterCable DA. It really made the paint POP- and working with one panel at a time you can really get it looking perfect. Just takes some time.

What ever happened to the cloth interior the car came with? :)
Thanks! Trying my best to keep it "OEM-Plus" (I HATE that word)

Man! After I swapped in the tan vinyl sports, I couldn't find anyone to take the cloth seats from me. They were up on here for about a year until I had to move and couldn't take them with me. Put them up for a few weeks for FREE and no bites. Only sold the door cards to a local guy. Anyway, they ended up in the Philly Landfill...and they were in really good condition too!
