I think that car belonged to this guy. Check all the threads he started for some history on the car.

I'm not positive it's the same car, this is the only pic I could find.

Maybe it's not, I dunno. Compare.

Do NOT give him more than $3k.
The front bumper, side skirts, and fenders need to be replaced.
Those wheels are not anything to be bragging about either.
Do not let him the seller make you beleive it is something special.
Show him that you know your shit, talk him down, buy it, fix it up.
Looks like a really clean car otherwise.

The car has been re-painted, rear bumper alignment seems a little off, new front valance, no hood insulation/lining thing, different seats, no kick panel, new fenders(if those vents are actually built in), hot air intake, etc.....

Its been modded in a cheap way, body work has been done, interior swapped.... Seems to me like this car has been wrecked. Maybe the motor 'rebuild' was due to a snapped timing belt? (130k is 2nd timing belt interval plus 10k), maybe after a wreck? Eitherway, it seems as though the car has been trough a lot. If i were you id buy a more stock cleaner E30 with better history. just my .02

I know your excited to buy a new car, and ive been there before too. I sold my e46 330i ZHP with 45k miles on it to buy something cheaper....I bought a B5 Stage 3++ S4 with 100k on the clock for $16500, yes it was cheaper, but at the same time it was a ticking time bomb pushing 29llbs of boost on a stock block. My point is, its easy to overlook the bad or concerning factors of a new car when you let your emotions and impatience get the best of you. Yea, my S4 was the most badass fastest car I've ever owned or riden in, but I sold it 4 months later because i knew it would blow up eventually and i didnt want the headache.

With all those shitty additions to the car you've gotta wonder what else got hacked. Granted the interior looks nice with the vert seats, but with OBC missing and all the random body work you've got to consider how much you're going to spend repairing what the previous owner did. I'd hold off and wait for a cleaner slate to build off, this looks like its been around the block.

its missing an OBC, missing the knee panel (under steering colum), missing the hood insulator, has some funky front bumper, which has cracks, etc.

But i just like to pick things apart :D

Off topic but is the difference between vert sport seats and m3 seats are the double stitching on the vert seat correct?

back on topic. does the owner have records of maintenance and all that good stuff?? if not id stay clear, maybe be hiding something, seats shined like a muddahfuggah for CL to give it flash. so check then triple check the car.

Back end is fine, tell him to lower the price, if he wants let him keep the awful front bumper and fenders, and you can source nice ones here;) btw, it's missing the OBC.
