First e30! [1989 325i M-tech II]

SHITTY experience with black ice... Going about 35mph, kept sliding till the front driver's side wheel hit a raised storm drain right on the side of the road. Bent everything, and actually completely buckled the floor of the car, wrapping it around the pedals. Made a hole right behind the driver's speaker, splitting the frame and body.

Did an awful lot of frame damage from just the contact with the wheel. Makes me wonder how weak it was from its previous accident early in its life...

Look at the seal around the fuel pump or the hoses at the fuel filter very common issue.

She's back! Got the transmission replaced, and have had it back for a full week now! Finally got it to emissions also... (After 3 temp tags, and battling dmv for a 4th. Every time I got a tag, something went wrong... but that's another story haha)

Also need to adress the gas leak. When the tank is filled almost full, fuel leaks from around the drivers side rear wheel well, near the muffler. Haven't gotten to take a good look, but the car is completely rust free, so hopefully it's just hoses. (:

Finally got the transmission out today!



What seems to have happened is the allen bolt on top came loose, and disconnected the mechanics inside, leaving it in reverse.

This weekend I'm going to see how much it would cost for a transmission shop to split the case and reconnect everything. It has less than 100k miles, and always shifted smoothly, minus reverse.

If not, I'll find a used one.

Yeah, that's what I said. Like twins, lol. I just imported mine from Germany. Shipped it in April and didn't get it back until October; major PITA but worth it (to me anyway).
