Took he car out for a spin drives great ! Im super excited. Only thing is I think I have a vacuum leak. That's why it idles rough.

Another thing is red46 skid plate is hecka low to the ground. And I'm not too slammed. Will have to do something about it later on. Here's some pics

Did a textured coating/chip guard for rocker panels.

The skid plate is like 1" off the floor

So I did some more work. Replaces worn out pulleys and put the whole front end together.

I got the spal fan working too. But I do have a weird problem still with the engine, after it works for a little while it starts misfiring badly. And if I rev it a few times and wait it out it would go away and then come back again. If I shut the engine off and start again it runs smoothly for like 3 min then starts misfiring again.

I do have new spark plugs , cleaned the icv, new coil boots, all vacuum hoses good. The only thing is my evap purge calve it unplugged. And the evaporate hose is capped. Not sure if that could cause the problem. Anyone have any ideas what it could be ?

Did more stuff to my e30. Fully rebuilt the vanos and replaced the cam shaft sensor. It fixed my Rough idle/random no start problem. Also started sorting out the engine bay wiring and slowly putting the whole front end together.

Basically the engine runs perfectly now. No more rattle from vanos etc. next is making my spal fan work and hooking up the led lights. Waiting for some parts to come it to do that.

Ye I think I figured it out. They problem was that it would randomly work then stop. And when I checked the codes it said that cam position sensor is bad. So ordered a new one and still didn't install it. When the rest of parts come in I want to do it together with the vanos rebuild. But I'm sure that the sensor is the problem.

Build looks good! Not sure if you ever got an answer on this. My S52 swap with does the 3 second prime. I only know b/c the walbro fuel pump is super loud.

Did a diagnosis on the engine today and it has a code on the cam sensor. Will order a new one and see if it helps. What brand is good besides the oem?

sounds more like a suggestive limit vs a budget. haha!

You are definitely correct, it is not cheap. I am doing a full Mtech 1 conversion as well. Excited to get started. The M62 swap is complete and the engine bay is painted - that's it.
