Here's a quick takeoff fly-by video Sideways87 and I took earlier. Listen on something with some low end range.

That exhaust is perfect. Loud enough, but not annoying.

That is the sound of a well sorted exhaust system.

            :(

I'll get some more/better shots next time I get the car up in the air, though the cat has some scrape marks and a dent or two now...

She looks nice Chris. Hopefully, I'll be able to see it next week. I have to leave the Brodeo by Friday morning to make it to a shifter kart race.

Looks great! Out of curiosity what are the red wires running down the passenger side of the engine bay?

Thanks J. We're planning to roll up Wednesday too and should arrive a couple hours after you guys.

Thanks! If you mean the driver side, I believe it's wiring for the fan override switch so I can run the puller full time if I want or need to. I'll double check...

D'oh yeah I meant driver side. If I ever get my swap sorted out I'll have to make it over to the other side of Tennessee to drive the roads.

                            How does it drive?

Also when are you going to throw the lukebox in?

It's quick; drives great. I plan to do more extensive research in NC at the Brodeo this weekend, where I'll be able to see how my diff selection fares on the mountain twisties.

Lukebox will be going in later this summer.

Well it's been a few weeks since the Brodeo, though I forgot to share my thoughts on the diff. The 3.15 with the ZF is a great all-around combo for highway and mountain roads. It runs 76-77 mph at 3500. I think a 3.25 or a 3.46 would be a little better suited for keeping the revs in the power band on the twisties, though since Brodeos are at least a 3-4 hour drive from where I live, the compromise makes sense.

When I bought her the rear wheel bearings were already making some racket, and a week of hammering the car in the mountains made them decidedly worse. After hearing how quiet it was in Klaus' cabin last week - since I hadn't driven him in a while - I realized it was probably beyond time to address them. So yesterday they got replaced at my friend bimmerteck's place. His air condtioned garage was nothing short of awesome on a hot and humid (read: typical Tennessee Summer) day. Big thanks to him for the assist.

The day in cell phone pics of marginal quality:

                                Part of one bearing out

The other one out in tact

                                Hubs out

Having the right tools - or a friend with them - makes all the difference

And a couple of shots after the job was done and the test drive complete
