Interesting concept. I had something similar on my E30 but without a filter for track. Only thing i found it to do is a lil bit of throttle response. Made more of a difference during these cool dense <EAST COAST>fall temperatures but as its get hotter I bet it will be less effective.
You should if your going to keep it Paint the canister black so its not hi-lighter yellow under your hood. unless you like it.. But decent job for what its worth..

I ran an e30 without its filter for a little bit, but otherwise it was completely stock. No difference whatsoever. Besides, not having a filter is VERY VERY risky. I don't recommend it.

Nether do I. But for a 1/4mile or a lap at Summit Point without any other cars to throw rocks up.. i didnt see much a of risk. for those cases

Well, if you had aftermarket brake ducts with the tubing that runs to the backing plates, you could get a double inlet brake duct for the drivers side and run one of them up to the intake. That's what I would do if I ever put a different intake on my car.

I think you should leave your car 100% stock and never ever change any part of it. If you do you go to hell. And you are a retard douche fag lesbian terrorist.

Looks good, but I like the smoked lights better than the hole. If you ran the ducting up to the grill right beside the light it would still get 100% cold air, you could still have 2 nice looking high beams, and you wouldnt go to hell.

I thought about trying to run ducting beside the highbeam, but the space between the highbeam and the radiator is really tight, and I didn't like the idea of having the duct suck air practically FROM the radiator. I know this isn't the best-looking setup, and I also feel bad about deleting a cross-hair highbeam (hell, I'm probably just in a phase right now, and I'll put the highbeam back on in a week lol). But I will try to make the duct as similar as possible to my other highbeam using paint/mirrors/smoke, and some black magic:-D . Updates to come soon...

I wonder how fast you'd have to get going before you are actually BOOSTING from the pressure...anyone want to do some calculations?

I have a duct that was made from fiberglass next to the light, I will try to get a close up shot of it posted really soon, dont know if it does anything, but i feel like i am all so cool for having it. had a dryer tube connecting it to the airbox, but it fell apart.

Well I have interesting findings concerning this. I DO seem to be getting something around 100mph+, because the engine is pinging at around 5500-6000rpm where before it didn't. I'm no whiz when it comes to engine tuning, but that COULD be due to increased air pressure going in. I'd have to do more research, and play around with some settings in order to figure out why this is happening for sure. Just from the position of the intake tube and its straight-thru path all the way to the intake bellow and throttle body logically dictates that air could go under pressure if the speed were high enough. no?
I could be so wrong though lol:drink:
