Hey guys. I just bought my first ever E30 - a 1991 5speed 325i sedan. I probably paid too much for it, but it was the cleanest example I could find that wasn't totally molested by some dbag.
Bringing it home

Cleaned up

It has the typical worn interior, cracked dash and ripped seats. Second gear has a horrific grind, and there is some (relatively) minor rust that I'm going to be tackling first and foremost. Exterior has been resprayed at some point, and for the most part it was done well. It's otherwise in pretty good shape and the M20 pulls hard without missing a beat. Everything electrical seems to work which is pretty amazing.
I plan on restoring the car to its near-original glory so it runs and drives perfectly and looks as good as can be without going full retard with my budget. Attack and fix the rust, interior overhaul, new Getrag 260, and a laundry list of maintenance items.
I love the way this car looks and drives. There's plenty of power on tap, and I can't get over how good the visibility is from the driver's seat. Such a cool car with a ton of character and soul.

From my research, it seems that these cars NEVER had exterior M badges from the factory. So this must have been the PO's work.. unless I find out otherwise, it is on my hit list for removal.
I'm a fairly competent mechanic, but the MIG welding required to fix the rust will all be new to me. I'm pretty excited for that challenge!!
