I used to post on here back in the day when I had an 87ix, so it's been a while I just picked up a decent looking manual transmission 91 vert down in Phoenix. I happened to be headed down there for work for a few days, and before I left, I stumbled across a craigslist ad for the car. Called him up, agreed to meet after work, and Friday 4/12 I was the proud new owner of this!
I missed my flight home back to Salt Lake, and took the windy way home. North through the darkness to Flagstaff, then west and North up to South Rim of the GC where I spent the night.
Here is a map of my route home. What a spectacular drive if a bit chilly with the top down. I kept the top down for 4+ hours. Basically from when I left the grand canyon to north of Kanab was all top down.
Car drove great, already has fresh billy b8 and H&R sport springs. New bushings and ball joints, ST sway bar up front, rear one in the trunk, (gonna need some reinforcement before I put that sucker in). Water pump, new steering rack, etc.... Kid took pretty good care of it. Working on tracking down a hood, as there is a big dent in the one on there, and I'll need to tackle the seats asap. But overall, car drove great, and was a hoot on the 11 hour drive home.
