    That quarter panel and tail panel dont look too bad to repair. Get some parts cut out from a wrecker and do the body work yourself. If you've painted the car yourself then you can probably do body work. If you can do it yourself you're going to save a ton of money!

    I learned how to do body work on my 68 Barracuda and while its a pain in the ass, its really not so hard to do.

    And doing the body work will be a ton easier than swapping over the drivetrain, etc. to a clean shell.

    I feel for you man, I know how it felt when I r3v the euro 323i and had Jordo and every one else slamming me. I was stone cold sober and made a dumb ass mistake. It sucks, but don't let it tear you away from cars.. There is still a place here for you, despite what TJ and some others might try to make you think.

    TCD = TurboCharging Dynamics.

    If you decide to not part it out and rock it like that for a while (or replace that 1/4 panel), I'll gladly fly up there and teach you a thing or two so you know what to do in case of emergencies. I'm almost with enough miles on my card to issue a domestic flight. :)

    I honestly believe that you made a big mistake Frank, and you know it! I also believe that you've learned from it, 100%. Don't try to convince yourself you hate the car now because you fucked up. If you love your car, fix it or find another shell and continue.

    Best of luck man.

    I really think you should just keep driving it as is, at track events etc. Learn to drive with 400hp, get all the stupid street WOT out of your system, then start over.

    Don't use the alcohol as a scape goat... You made a big jump from 170hp to 400ish... just learn to use it, and you'll be good.

    Josh's right, so is Fielding. I fucked up. I can't reiterate it enough. However, I'm well aware of the whole darwin theory of natural selection. The stupid people get voted off the island first, that's the way it goes. Whatever I choose to do with my car, I hope you guys know I'm doing it for the best.
    I know some of you are secretly hoping I part it. I won't sell my parts for profit, i'll tell you that. Especially to the forum. I have alot of goodies on that car such that I think alot of people will be interested in. I could be wrong though, whatever.

    I'm trying to convince myself that E30's aren't for me anymore and that i'm outgrowing it and that It's really not "me" in order to feel OK about parting it if that's what I decide, but it's hard, bc i think that i may always have that itch...

    You can say my name, I don't care. It doesn't bother me anymore. I don't know who the other person you're referring to that had alcohol involved, but it sure as shit wasn't me! :D And that was 5 years ago.

    Now as far as being understanding, I was VERY understanding up to the point of finding out that he was drunk. Now while I still feel bad that he wrecked the car, I don't feel bad for HIM. That's all I'm saying. But I also know that he's not here looking for sympathy.

    Many of us have been in similar situations. Unfortunately experience is the best teacher. Just be glad no one got hurt.

    These threads always turn out the same. Someone did something stupid and fucked up. Then everyone gets up all high on their respective horses and talks down to them. Whoever said we all make mistakes and to get back up on the horse is right. Im sure Frank realizes what could have happened, hes not an idiot.

    Frank fucked up, hes paid the price. Ill admit Ive made mistakes before as well. Were all human. What matters is that he seems to understand the situation and is trying to move forward in the right direction.

    All I know about drunk driving is that it is fun.

    If you are going to take a stab at Darwinism drunk driving a turbo m30 semi-trailing arm'ed E30, do it on your own. Don't take others out with you. It's just not as funny with victims and unintentional manslaughter.
