I know specifically of a 318iS that was here in the US that was fitted with an M-Technic II kit from the dealer. The front parts came from the cabbie, but the sides were for a coupe and the VIN on the coupe sideskirts matched the VIN on the car, and the rest of the parts.

The rear also had the exhaust cutout for a 318 (single cutout) and the VIN sticker there too was the same.

So did the dealer put the kit on? Or did the factory install an M-Technic II kit on a 318iS coupe in the states?

It may not be M-Tech I, but just saying. I only know this because I own the kit, and Billy (BDSax) can back me up since he sold it to me.

uhh im 99.999% sure my German Mtech1 cabby came (from factory) as an Mtech1. The original owner picked it up at the BMW factory... as an Mtech1. So unless it was sent to a dealer, turned into an mtech car and then shipped back to the factory??? BMW made it.

Back on topic, I really hope a period correct motor is staying in that car.
?? What that has to do with anything I don't know. I'm not english either.

Hmm after that,Anyway's I checked, Double checked and then checked again. Bmw germany have never released a cab with a tech 1 kit on it from factory. So this means DEALER fit only world wide. You have to tick the box when ordering the car and then it would be fitted with a euro bumper like the brown one above your last post.. Or do your car's come from a different factory from every one else.??? lol

Don't worry about it. The Chev Small Block is from the 50s, way before the period. ;)
