Im stoked you saved an e30 and are actually giving it attention. I dont like what your doing, because I believe any body kit on an e30 messes up the lines and its just not a car to put body kits on. But i will give you credit for doing something you love and making your car something YOU enjoy. Good luck with the rest of the project.

Black for the mesh, and should of eliminated the 3rd brake light when you recovered the back shelf.

    Update

Well, been chipping away at the project. Interior mostly installed. Recovered parcel shelf and installed new speakers and head unit. Bought some new door handles, installed new antenna and started installing the grill. I am going to be using the original chrome/aluminum window trims, they are polishing up very well. I have bought the grill mesh to install in the space under the kidneys, just have a question for you guys. Should I leave the mesh chrome or paint it black? Also do I leave the space beside where the fog lights go empty or does it get mesh also? I have the new lock strips for front and rear windshield, I went with the black, thought it would look good. I put the wheels from my 89 325i on the car for now, will buy something different in the spring I hope. Thanks for all your input. Excuse the dusty paint, no windows, makes it hard to clean.
    Cheers!

See, here's the problem. The kit's disproportional. The front and rear valences do not work well with the rest of the car. So, while you are doing something different (And I applaud you for sticking up for bad taste), your car looks like an otherwise hot chick with thunderthighs and cottage cheese. You can like one body style over another, be it car or chick, but it's gotta be consistent. Either go all classy and sleek or, um, voluptuous and full-figured, but you can't mix the two.

That's not bad, but the rear apron thing still looks silly.

I quickly rebuilt the car for you in photoshop, it might look alright if you found a set of huge wheels.

Good luck, nice to see you're putting more work into the car than most E30's ever see in their entire life.

    thanks

Thanks to the members who can at least attempt to look outside the box and have said some nice things. Wow, you can really get a feel for what people are like by posting pics of an unconventional e30. All i have to say is that the best thing about this is that i think the majority of you have said that the bodywork and paint look good, thats great, it was the most difficult and i am glad that others think it looks good. The only real issue many of you have is the bumpers, especially the rear. Like I said , I am happy with it. I do agree that it doesn't play the best with the square lines of the car. But as I also said, i am keeping it the way it is. A bumper is a pretty large part of the whole look of a car but in all honesty , if you were ripping apart the job i did on the rest of the car I would be a hell of a lot more concerned. Thanks for realizing the hard work that went into this even if you don't like the end results.

You are damn right it is, sister!

Not as big a difference as you'd like to think.

You'll have to be more specific. What, exactly, makes someone "the man" in bed? A schlong? 'Cause I don't have one of those.

You might not have to do the same thing that everyones doing, but you shouldn't go through all that hard work you did to the car, and then slap a rear bumper on like that. That is hands down the most awful looking rear bumper I have EVER seen on an e30.
