thanks, that what i'll do tommorow morning, brand new paint and its already covered in sap. ive gone almost 3 years with out getting sap on the car. that sounds like the safest method.
the sapping trees are elm trees, my house has too many trees.

the Derek tip:
Layy a warm water, soapy towel over the sap for a bit, then wash. It is supposed to help soften it up for easy cleaning.Leave a comment:

well i went to hot august nights and came back to find my car covered in tree sap, this morning it was fine now its sticky. its too late at night to wash it, what can tree sap do to new paint, its just little dots everywhere. i guess it will have to wash it in the morning. its not even the tree near it thats sappy its just the wind blowing it on the car.Leave a comment:

The car is coming along nicely; like was said before, it makes bottlecaps look good for some reason. That red looks pretty good. What are your future plans in general with the car?

Looks great - especially for a Maaco job. Not a bad price, either. You would have paid twice that anywhere else.
Go to your local hardware store and pickup some push-in black plastic fasteners if you want to ditch the front plate. They're available in dozens of shapes and sizes. If they don't have them, check with an auto glass shop or an upholstery shop.
