That's really the question of modern art. Can it even be called art? Is a copper etching of the virgin mary covered in human shit really art, or is it a stunt to shock you, and can't a stunt to shock you be called art too?

I like that you used andy warhol for this example, since he was famous for just this kind of thing. Is a rendering of a campbells soup can art? How about 4 versions of elvis done in different colors side by side? I would argue that if any one person can call it art, it is just that.
