Anyway, a bigger diameter means better longitudinal grip, and a wider tire means better lateral grip!

Hey, while you may be indirectly correct here, you might just be mistaken. a larger diameter tire will simply give you a longer final drive ratio. While this has absolutely nothing to do with "longitudnal grip", it may make the slightest difference in traction.

A better way to get your desired final drive ratio would be to match a proper ratio differential with proper diameter tires.

Oh, and I'm not trying to be an ass, just giving a heads up. The car looks like a blast. I hope you got a good deal on it though, it looks like you've got a lot of work ahead of you. If it were me I'd find a nice clean e30 with a blown motor or something and swap all of your goods over. Or like you say, a rolling e30m3 chassis would be even better. Have fun with the project!

i have seen a e36 with s13/ae86 flares which come on what ever size you want and there are many available and it actually looked good! but that jst me

update!

I didn't work that much on the car, but I found my locknut socket! So I wont have to f**k around removing those lock wheel nuts. I also got my muffler welded.

I had the chance to drive around a bit! :p Wow, the sound is amazing and its pulling hard! I'm very happy.

My next step is working on the electric and to to disassemble the rear end to replace the subframe bushing and to inspect all the component. I also have to replace some seal on the diff.

I worked on the car this week end.

I did:

- A brakect for the e36 rad. It was loose and the fan was hitting the rad:???:
- Added some door's seal
- Cut some more fender. After a test run, I still need to cut
- Started to look at the wires
- Fixed the filler neck of the gas tank

Tomorrow a friend of mine should weld my muffler.

I got my car!! It's pulling very nice!

However, I will have a lot to do... I started to look at it tonight. The body is not that clean. I think I won't keep It many years.

Anyway, I'm very happy to have my first Bimmer!
