M50 swap question
My Body harness is out of an 84 318i and i have a 93 m50 vanos engine harness and Im having problems figuring out how to put in a later model gauge cluster.
what must i do to get the water temp, rpm, and speedometer gauges to work on the later model gauge cluster?
i currently have the car working as i have all the pin outs set correctly, the only one wire im having trouble directing is that one small black wire that connects to the gauge cluster, where does that splice into? and what does it do?

i noticed a lot of problems with this bottom mount set up, my compressor housing being to big that it hits my motor arm, i have to make a custom pipe that goes around the arm, or get a new $80 or more arm.
im considering moving the hfm in front of the compressor.

Is it safe to run the hfm in the charge pipes? or should i get it in front of the compressor?
Can i get the wastegate vacuum signal line from the charge pipe instead of the compressor?
what size fittings should I use for that line?
Also, my drain line sits almost horizontal will I run into problems with this?
