Don't bother Josh, some don't get the pleasure of doing it themselves. Please don't go VR6 though. Too heavy for early chassis dynamics.

Why would it go $$$? The only thing that's going to cost even somewhat big money *might* be the engine, later down the road, depending on what I decide to go with. Are you familiar with how cheap VW engines and parts for them are, and how plentiful they are? This car is a whole different universe from the BMW when it comes to cost of parts. And yeah, not everything can be done cheaply, I'm going to try to do everything as cheaply as possible, as I said before. That doesn't mean I'm not going to spend money on things.

You apparently aren't familiar with me or my car, and the amount of custom fabricated stuff I've made myself, or with help from friends and family. You also don't know the immense resource of friends, family, and access to specialized machinery and tools that I have. I can custom fab, or have made all kinds of shit a lot of people can't. You just stay tuned, and I'll make you eat those dollar signs.

I realize you only spent $100 on the car and it was a local purchase, but I see where this is going. Could've just bought T3rd Ferguson's car...

I continued cleaning inside the interior today, I got almost all of the carpet glue shit off the floor in the back where rear seat was, and in the spare tire well. We're going to run new battery cable and relocate the battery to sit inside the spare tire well, under the rear strut tower brace I'm going to make.

I'm going to make a rear brace like this one, and have the lower diagonal support probably attach to the inner wall of the spare tire well, and the battery will sit under that, but mine will be welded to the sheet metal below the actual shock towers.

The interior of this car is basically what I'm going for (prolly minus the cage) unless I get really serious about racing it, and minus the false floor. My plan is to start autocrossing this car in '11 (going to run the E30 this season), so I'll have plenty of time to build it.

checkerboard looks better in white. just do it with vinyl and you can always switch or just remove it.
