I passed up a chance to buy a fucking awesome worked-up Mk2 GTi and I'm kicking myself for it. They're seriously rare over here, and this one was a 3dr (which we never got) meaning it was only one of 5 or 6 in all of Australia... and it had an Audi 8v engine in it too.

This thread makes me want to start searching for another Mk1 or 2 as a run-to-the-station hack...

I say spray the cowl and roofskin in black. Gloss or satin.
