ribs, the manual conversion transforms those engines into something else. Especially when you open up the intake and exhaust.
Even people who are into old school V8s still dont believe me that the engine is unmodified when I take them for a spin.

Iain, my fab mate Paul has made a few sets of headers for these already so we thought we would start from scratch and do them in stainless rather than chopping up some of Neils and will prob end up costing a bit less.

Neil from Rush is an absolute legend though. Has been a big help throughout my engine rebuild. I just wish he was closer to I could pay him to do the work instead of doing it myself hehe

Thought of getting some Rush Import headers and making them fit (you already have the hammer out)?

    How's the Storm Trooper going?

    Dig this build!

As a Lexus fan and ex-LS400 owner, I'm a big fan of their V8's. Always wondered how much fun a 6-speed manual would be in an LS400. :)

For now yes but not worried because I have the header type soarer mani's, not the fugly polly waffle logs.
They are pretty good for a stocky header and by far the best of the factory 1uz headers.
Can sort of see them here,

My fab man has joined the police force so last 6 months he hasnt had time but we will make some neat stainless pipes for it one weekend.

Like anythig, it depends on how much you can and are willing to do yourself and how much you have to pay in the US for 1UZs.

Isnt there a DS one on here, the one who trasplanted the LS400 dash?

Best bang for buck at the moment is clearly the M5x S5x conversions but I just love that "the sound doesnt match the car" expression on peoples faces and the V8 sound :)

The M50tu stroker I have makes 1hp more than this engine but I will always love this one more. Its just a fuckload of fun.

Its taken a long time but I have no regrets

I heard a dirty rumour a couple of weeks ago that you can fit 2UZ internals into the 1UZ with some machining. ;)

#1 priority at this stage is to get it back together and enjoy it for a while and play with suspension and brakes.
