    Abby, my AWII build thread

    *updates on page 7*

After reading iwantspeed's build thread, I was inspired to create my own. Here is the most recent pic. The build follows below.

First off, I have been searching for my e30 for a LONG time. In the end, I had decided that i wanted to get a cheap beater to strip out and roll cage. I was searching CL one night and saw a promising '89 325is posted that had 'only interior issues.' I emailed the seller, and went out to meet him at an airport the next morning to drive it around the hangar that it had been parked in for 2 years and ended up paying the full asking price of $900. Two owners, 195k, clean title CA car.

    ^meet Abby!^

She was a non-op'r, so I flushed the motor, changed the plugs and drove her hot to the smog shop and she passed!!!! ODO was busted, but read 196453. Timing belt read 151000 in 2001, so I took care of that immediately.

Afterwards, thanks to Anthony in Pico Rivera, I replaced the tranny (noisy bearings) and clutch. Now she runs like a top!!

Now that most of the 'preventative' stuff is taken care of, it's time to have some fun. She has clearly never been molested or even driven hard, so I'm going to try and keep that clean stock look. Every little function works except the si board lights (my fault) and there is not one slightly major area of rust to be found. ANYWAYS, enough talk....time for pics!

    11/88 build date AWII non-airbag 325is

More pics to come as I get them.

    Thanks for looking!
