      Thanks Erik, that's tempting, your fabric is awesome (and so is your Sterling Silver M-tech II). But I'm going to keep it original. My car came with the full-leather upholstery [SCHWARZ VOLLEDER 0318] option, so I'm going to get some new leather seat covers, hopefully nappa.

      BTW, I found this translation for the interior options lingo on an M5 board. Full leather was an option that could be ordered with the M-technic cars, though most of the cars were sold with evo cloth.

      Sitzleder = seat-leather (and centre door trim)
      Teilleder = half-leather
      Volleder = full-leather (including door cards, centre console etc.)
      Komplettleder = complete-leather (additional leather on dashboard etc.)
      Stoff = cloth

      Sonderpolsterung = special upholstery

      And for those people looking for more info. on M-tech cars, there's a lot on this website http://e30ic.com/M-technic.htm

          So right after I said I'm going to keep it original, this Hella/Momo steering wheel arrives in the mail. I really love the look, size and feel of this wheel. I have the exact same wheel on my 318i.

          I think this small diameter m-tech II wheel would be the more correct replacement for the original 4-spoke airbag wheel, but I think I prefer the Hella better They are the exact same diameter - 370mm. Any thoughts?

                      I want to make it a respectable weekend cruiser. As noted by Mr. McCooney below, it has a stout platform. No signs of accident history, but it's far from pristine. A couple dents and few dings, lots of miles, a so-so re-spray, a replacement hood, and holes drilled in the rear decklid to mount the aftermarket spoiler.

                      It's begging to be saved though, so once it's running right, it will get new seat leather, a new top, and a good re-spray.

                      As a weekend cruise-mobile, I'm going to see if I can hang with it being an automatic. But an engine/drivetrain swap may be in the long-term plans.

                      Working on that...

                      Note that the bottom left passenger side ellipsoid mounting tab was broken in transit, s^ck@m0th@f*cka
                      Rob, PM me if you need something to mount that tab back on properly.
