Whew! Valve cover gaskets are easy too. for the record, TWO vc gaskets for me were only $5. I <3 domestic power. Cant wait to see this thing man.

Update...
Just did compression test.. WHEW everything is ok.. cyl 6 is what i was worried about, and the numbers are great.

SOO I guess the guy i bought the motor from wasnt lying.. it looks like it actually has 61k on it!

so its looking like it is the valve cover gasket and spark plug gaskets... I DID notice some oil around one of the gaskets soooo thats prob the issue :up:

yea my next door neighbor is an ahole and tried to call the cops on me when i was idling my E36 unmuffled in the garage. i didn't even think it was that bad but he likes to whine to anyone who will listen.

fortunately they know he's a crackpot and ignored his call.

LOL 5 mins after i came inside i got a knock on the door... its the police. Didnt get any citations but she said they got 2 noise complants lol.. she let me off and said dont want to hear it again out of the driveway. ohhwellll

Word, let me know. I think it will be very easy on an M50 in an E30, in the E36 a few of the nuts are tucked under the wiper cowl and a little hard to reach, from the photos of M50 swaps I have seen it looks like that's not a problem with the E30.

I also ordered new rubber seals that go around the nut/bolts when I did my gasket. Might be overkill but a lot of mine looked pretty old and crappy.

I'll try to count tonight I can't remember if it's 15 or 16 of them and realoem doesn't give a count.

Or you can probably just ignore and reuse them.

Yeah ill let you know!! and yeah steve from blunttech gave me a quote like 46 bucks shipped for the gaskets and the rubber seals.. i guess Ill just do that lol.
