I love following this thread. Just wanted to drop in to say good work, stuff to get inspired by. -
It is not powder coated. I used three coats of engine paint to match the block. I had the valve cover, intake manifold, fuel rail and oil canister powder coated. My parts are done, just waiting for my friends wheels to be done for a single trip.
The more I look at the timing case I think I am going to strip the upper cover to match the head. What do you guys think? It just clashes IMHO.Leave a comment:

Smug looks are for stuck up yuppies that never know the feeling of grease under their finger nails.

3 hours spent blasting, sanding, wire brushing and painting...look at that "buttery smooth respray" props to whoever can guess the quote xD
Also wire wheeled/painted the starter and tested it before install.
I have nothing left to do till my parts order arrives Friday. I know these are boring updates, but she will be running in a few weeks.
Waiting on blunt and renewed finishes.Leave a comment:

Busy day today, set out to get everything finished and ready for the refresh parts from BluntTech. Put the head in the parts tank to get it factory clean. Then took a wire wheel to it. Removed the rear seal covers and repainted them. All sealed and ready to go. Put a level across the head and measured for warp with my gauges. None, good to go!Last edited by F34R; 03-27-2013, 05:40 PM.Leave a comment:

Head was washed and rinsed with all new rear cam seals and all new studs/nuts. The headers will be finished this week!
I never understand kids swapping an engine without tearing it down while it is out. It is ALL about the maintenance.Last edited by F34R; 03-26-2013, 12:30 PM.Leave a comment:
