Things are soon to go nuts with this car. I am trying to sell some VW parts to fund this.
A good friend gave me a Comp-cam with the following specs.
Serial # A 6725 Spec Card# 047220
Part # 54-000-11 CAMSHAFT, LS1 CHEVY LS1/GEN III '97-UP
Core C54-11H CAMSHAFT BLANK, LS1 1997 UP 5.7 CORVETTE
Grind # LS1 3727R /3733R HR113+4
DURATION @ .050 INTAKE 234 ROCKER ARM RATIO
VALVE ADJ INTAKE .000 DURATION @ .050 EXHAUST 246 INTAKE 1.70
VALVE ADJ EXHAUST .000 LOBE LIFT INTAKE .3520 EXHAUST 1.70
VALVE LIFT INTAKE .598 LOBE LIFT EXHAUST .3610
VALVE LIFT EXHAUST .613 LOBE SEPARATION 113.0
DURATION .006 INTAKE C/L 109.0
After these parts sell, I'll be purchasing a 5.3 drop out, and a set of 4.00" pushrods, and supporting valve springs. Once the motor is ready to go, the same friend will be selling me his complete t56 trans for $800 in perfect working order.
Come on 400whp and 7,500rpm! Oh, and a set of ARP rod bolts.
We are hoping to complete the swap by mid summer, and open the door to offering motor swaps as a regular thing at the shop.
Oh, and here's some eye candy.
My 400+ whp VW (RIP, I miss this vehicle)

I was originally hoping that I could get away with a thick set of swaybars and softer suspension. This car will be on the street 95% of the time. I will give it a go with Bilstein sports first and a set of adjustable sways.
I'm considering finding some H&R race for the back and keep the Vogtlands in the front. I dunno, most things going into the car are second hand so the options are endless. I made an exception on the wheels and tires though, those TRM's are too good of a deal to wait around for someone to sell theirs.Leave a comment:

You won't like the KYB struts especially if you are tracking. Ask me how I knowLeave a comment:

I had to roll all 4 fenders. And push in a bump on both rears that is up inside the well.
They are, I rub badly if anyone gets in the back. I have a set of brand new KYB struts just sittin in the shop right now but they won't get installed. Once I have the extra cash I'll be waiting for some IE3's and Billys to show up in the classifieds.Leave a comment:

Nice choice on wheels+tires!
However, you will soon discover those voglands are much too soft.Leave a comment:

Any rubbing with the RS3s? I was looking at getting a set but worried they would rub.Leave a comment:

Some updates.
Threw the leather seats out of my GLI in yesterday. Kind of cool that part of that car will stay with me. Plus the seats are the most comfortable buckets I've been in.

Also, Vogtland springs are on along with wheels.

Ordered a set of these in Grey tonight, 15x8

And the last set of RS3's that Tirerack had in 225/45r15. Should be here in about a week!
Also bought some billy sports and springs used off another member here last night.
I can't wait for summer to throw the wheels on! Suspension will go on as soon as it gets here.
Also replaced the wiper motor the other day, it was raining and I had to before I could leave the shop. Damn weather forced me into it.Leave a comment:

Next project is the cab, going to go on a cleaning frenzy. If I find the time I'm going to pull the interior and remove all unnecessary items, then re-install. I don't want the car to look gutted, but wouldn't mind losing a few pounds if it won't be noticed other than in performance.Leave a comment:

Today was eventful. We ran out of work at lunch so I pulled the ol' E30 in for some free works.
Tucked the front bumper, and stared at the rear for a few minutes before decided not to tuck it. The back end looks fine, and I can't stop idiots from rear ending me.
Then I went to town on the trunk, removed a bunch of random parts my brother had been collecting, jumped when I found the snake skin, and then scraped all 50 some odd pounds of tar off the metal.
The trunk lining was in bad shape, so it all got trashed. I'll post pics tomorrow.
The rear end now sits level with the front, and seems to slide with ease now.Leave a comment:

looks just like my 85 318i build on the outside, just with way more power. Keep it up, interested in seeing how this turns out!Leave a comment:
