Is your car wired for fogs or are they missing from a dumbass PO? I don't know if there is wiring if they had none.

I have the 6k kit. The blue light that the 8k kit puts out will put you right back to where you are at now, but with a blue light. The 5-6k kit has a nice bright white light.

9006 is the bulb designation for the low beams. The kit you linked is the correct style bulb for US ellipsoids. Direct plug and play. Your harness for the lows plugs into the ballast and the HID bulb harness plugs into the out on the ballast. So to answer your question, yes. You get a full low beam conversion kit WITH free expedited shipping for 32.99. It literally will take all of 10-15 minutes to convert your ellipsoids to HID. Mine took longer because I had to splice the 9006 plugs onto my headlight harness.

The H4s are Euro headlights. They look like sealed beams but with an interchangeable bulb. I like the look of the ellipsoids. Plus, I can put HIDs in them. The ellipsoids came standard on the 89 cars for sure, I think 88 as well. My 89 vert I got from my mom has the ellipsoids from the factory.

You might want to try HIDs in your ellipsoids. Made a hell of an improvement over the sealed beams. HIDs can be had for cheap on fleabay. Get the 9006 plug-m-play kit. I have that kit, but got it for free out of another car....

but what comes standard on a ic?

Ive actually looked up the parts and seen both. Mine has hella projectors. Id want the mb yellow brights and the h4s that the other guy ended up with... non sealed beams regular headlights.

Ive got basically what you traded for.

And I need to upgrade these theyre so weak.

OK guys and gals....have another update for you. I bought a set of headlights from my buddy, Schitzer318is. They were the H4 lows and sealed highs. Paid $30 for the set of four with buckets. I had really wanted a set of ellips, but had to find a way to come up with the funds for them. I met another guy here in San Antonio that has an 89 vert. He converted his ellipsoid headlights to H4s and MB yellow highs. He preferred the H4 setup. I preferred the ellipsoids. So, we worked a straight up trade. Basically, I paid $30 for a full set of ellipsoids. Nice!

    Here is the before:

    Here is the after:

    But wait! There's more!

As some of you may know, I work for a dealership. We do what is called a used vehicle inspection on the units we recondition for re-sale. When there are aftermarket parts on them, we convert them back to stock so that there aren't any problems.

So, while I was converting my sealed beams to ellipsoids, I installed these from a used vehicle....

    Wait for it......

Hell yes I did. I installed a set of HIDs in my ellipsoids. The beam pattern and cutoff are great. I am not sure of the temperature, but they look like standard HIDs. I am VERY happy with this setup. Sealed beams to a full ellipsoid conversion with HIDs.....for $30.....Hell yes I am a budget builder.

I have all the gaskets for the top end of the engine so that when I do my water pump and timing belt, I can paint my valve cover and intake wrinkle black with the brushed aluminum raised parts. I am so stoked for what is coming. I have all the parts I need for my suspension re-build, just need the time to do it.

    More to come.....

Yes, the trunk I painted with Rustoleum Regal red. I agree with you on the seats. More of a flesh color. That is soon to change as it is bugging the ever loving piss outta me.

As far as a dye goes, Colorbond is hat I plan on using. Here is the link:

    ok gotcha.

    the po reuppolstered.

because as far as I know 325 ic only came in leather. the 318 ic came with vinyl, but it was vertical stitch.

same with the m3. In short theres no horizontal stitch vinyl seats.
I dont think your seats are really damaged too much theyre actually way above average. I do see some damage on the seat back. Theyre just kind of light and dirty.

I dont know what people use to redye and recondition vinyl seats. cameras are wrong but your seat doesnt look tan it looks flesh

as crazy as this sounds because yours are so light now I would experiment with changing the color. or tan is fine obviously.

But a saddle brown e30 seat would be pretty pimp.
I was thinking about re-dyeing them to match the tan panels I just put in the car. The seats were redone a while back by the PO and they are vinyl, not leather. The stitching is coming apart on the top of the rear seat back at the seams and also on the top outside of the driver side seat. I am not happy with the fit of the vinyl, but for the time being will probably repair the stitching and just dye them. Saddle brown does sound bad ass though..hmmmmmmmmm.

    On to the pics!

Here are a few shots of the interior this morning before I gutted the car:

I didn't get any pics of the car gutted because I am sure everyone and their brother has seen a naked e30.

Here are the after pics. I definitely need to dye the seats. And get a crack-free dash. And a new top. And a new paint job. The list goes on....

I still need to strip the painted black boot lid covering off and install new tan to match.

Here is a shot of the deck lid that I recently painted to match the car until I can afford to have it repainted professionally. I used Rustoleum Regal red and cleared it with Rustoleum Crystal clear. I sanded and painted the spoiler with Rustoleum Bumper trim paint. The bumper trim paint already has a flex agent mixed in so it shouldn't crack.

Here is what I started with. I don't think the person who painted it before used the right paint.....

Finished product. I finally got to install the new trunk roundel my loving wife got me for Christmas.

Now, I need to get to work on the mechanics. I have a new water pump coming along with rocker plug seals, cam seal and valve cover gasket. Waiting on those parts so I can tackle the timing belt job, then on to suspension.
