We got all of my gauges working too, I must admit I was happy as hell when it started. I'm going to use e34 downpipes to a y then a single 2.5" to a glasspack and muffler for now.

Here's a short vid of the second start:

it was fun! I bet these sound nasty with straight pipes all the way back.

My plan for the exhaust is to run the two pipes together, then run a single pipe to a high flow cat that I have, then to my supersprint muffler.

I still need to have the car pass emissions, so hopefully this will do it.

There may or may not be a number of new black lines on the pavement in my neighborhood.

We must have done something right with the wiring too, cause all my gauges that didnt work with the m42, now work on the m30. Like the temp, economy gauge, speedo, etc.

    FINALLY got it fired up!

Started the swap on the 1st, and it came to life on today, at about 4:30 AM on the 24th.

Im happy with that timeline. My goal was to get it running, and possibly driving in under a month.

Heres the VID. Turn it up!

Video doesnt want to embed, heres a link

Trying to start it right now. It won't do shit. I have some electrical smart friends making beepy noises with a multimeter.

So far everything on the swap is done except the exhaust and cooling system. And diagnosing the electrical problems.

Ill get back when there are more updates.

That big 6 looks good. I like the black intake & valve cover. You do work fast installing the m30 in the 318i. Keep the pics coming.

Intake is bolted down, valve cover is bolted down, oil is in, fuel rail is on, throttle body is on.

Need to go get some more fuel line to extend it to the rail, and start plugging in the electrics. Looks like another junkyard run is in order to get the trottle cable bracket, and a few other small things.
