If anything i think you could have fun doing the m10 injection system conversion. An m42 sounds fantastic though too. I think there's an article on jalopnik about a well done m42 02.Leave a comment:

Congrats on the 02. Some of your plans make me cry (trim delete and M42 swap) but others make me smile! (period 14/15 wheels, wuro sig's, brakes, etc). Looking forward to see this evolve!Plans for her include:
repairing abundant amounts of rust as i go.
Deleting all the trim except for the gutters.
deleting side markers
euro front turn signals
Filling the antenna hole.
Swapping out the doors with cleaner examples.
staying 4x100
period correct 14-15" wheels
Coil over Conversion
e21 BBk in the front.
Disc conversion in the rear
mk1 rabbit flares (as my fenders are rusted through at the current "flare")
replace body rubbers
M42 drive train swap
and a bunch of other stuff i will figure out

and another Sahara!Leave a comment:

you were deff my inspiration, and chubby. your build threads rule. not looking to be anywhere near but really just trying to get her back on the road with fresh paint and drivetrain and suspension.. and brakes... and interior... yea everything..
i hope i do also. lol should be interesting. thanks guys
id say a fare amount for sure.
Anyways, helping a bud with his car today. he needs the help and ill have a day dedicated to it tomorrow. charged up my D80's batteries for some better photos in the future.Hey I know that 02!!! Good luck with the rebuild, its seriously an amazingly solid chassis. I couldn't believe how solid the rear strut towers were!
rear deff seems solid. just have to grind away some rust in the wheel wells.. the only rust has to be from the antenna.
I'm super jelly.Leave a comment:
